After parting with the Pontiac we went to Petersen Automotive museum in Hollywood.

First stop was Johnny Rocket's where we had mini hot dogs and coffee.

Here's an interesting Motorcycle with a four cylinder engine.

Maybe we should have school buses like these at home?

We ate ice creams and had coffees before shopping for some Air Soft stuff for Leifs son, and then we entered one of the biggest malls in America.
Stores, stores, stores... And then fifty more stores. And restaurants. Whew!

                   Day seventeen June 26

I wanted to have Stewart Warner gauges for my Hot Rod, but we found one address with out the shop, and one shop that's closed Saturdays... No Dice!

This is what we saw the most the last few days. Five lanes in both directions, rolling at 5Mph.

Orange county was next on the agenda with a visit at Reids Hot Rods, and CW Moss.
Some parts for new headers for the Essex, a DVD...

Guess what we had at Denny's in Orange? Yes, ice creams!!!

After a good nap in the hotel room we headed for Hollywood.
There were actually surprisingly few really high houses in the Los Angeles area...

I just had to have a pic of the round Capitol Records building!

We had pizzas one or two blocks from here.

                   Day eighteen June 27

Sunday morning after breakfast we headed to La Palma Park in Anaheim, where the Forty Ford Day was held.

Row upon row of forty Fords with their hoods up...
Lots of pretty cars sitting on the lawn of this beautiful park. I just have to admit that different cars are more fun to look at, fifty forties in a row is... Well, many.

That's why we had to look a this beautiful Oldsmobile 88...

...and this yellow deuce.

This pick up truck had real scallops!

And here's one of my Favorites. A Forty eight Pontiac. Beautiful. Could've still had the straight eight though.

This convertible was for sale out side the gates. $17,500 wanted, which feels a bit stiff.

Still more cars arriving. Not many cars in primer in this event!

When we came back from Anaheim, we topped up the fuel tank and returned the Toyota.
A nice walk later we sat with nice apple pies a la Mode (with ice cream), but that hardly surprises anybody at this stage...

Ice cream, You scream and We scream :-) Leif called it "cranky cream", because I got kinda cranky if I didn't get ice cream every day...

                   Last Days June 28 - 29

Monday came, and with that our last morning in Los Angeles.
We had our usual morning walkabout with fresh smog, and had our last heavy American breakfast with bacon, eggs, toast, jam, coffe, fruit and juice.

Some standing in line for safety inspection later we had to wait three hours for the plane to take off. At 6 pm local time in Helsinki we sat in Leifs Peugeot heading for home. After a twenty six hour day I fell asleep in my own bed.

Fun to fire up the Essex and go for a ride!!! Good to be home!
